From Hampton Roads Virginia, Patrick Ryan Band blends elements of funk, blues, classic rock & jazz on stage to make each performance - and each set - unique and exciting. There are no background instruments in this group; every player shines on stage.
On vocals & acoustic guitar Patrick Ryan is authentic and engaging with the crowd & his band; he sets the tone for tasteful improvisation & a good time. Paul Warren’s creativity & heavy-duty bass lines lay the foundation for drummer Smithfield Dash to skillfully shine with his versatile approach to setting the groove. On electric guitar, Shaun Fields adds a layer of tasteful dynamics & adaptability that both lends itself to, and emerges from, the music. Saxophone player Brandon Musko’s melodic ability compliments the music & is second only to his ability to improvisationally lead & follow with the band.
Patrick Ryan Band has brought their diverse selection of covers and memorable original music to theaters, concert halls, festivals, clubs & other venues throughout Virginia since 2020; each member having extensive experience with performing with, and without, each other. Their covers include songs from The Beatles, John Scofield, Dave Matthews Band, The Grateful Dead, Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone, Tyler Childers, Johnny Cash & more.
Devin “Smithfield” Dash

From Smithfield, VA, Dash began playing drums at age 17 listening to jazz records. Over the last 25 years he has studied under local masters of his craft, earned Governor's School awards for his talent on the set and performed with the best musicians across genres from blues, reggae, rock to gospel, jazz, country.

Multi-instrumentalist Shaun Fields began playing music in a worship setting at a young age. His musical journey has led him to become one of the top studio players in the area. Shaun has shared the stage with great musicians like Danny Lubertazzi, Robert “Bobby Blackhat” Walters & Jim Stanley. Patrick is one of the most booked performers across Hampton Roads. He has a passion for music and a business degree from Old Dominion University. He stays busy performing in different formats with a variety of great musicians full-time.
Patrick is the host of weekly open mic, “Open Jam Tuesday”, voted Best Open Mic In Hampton Roads in 2022 by VEER Magazine. He was featured on the Coast Live Morning Show television broadcast, VEER Magazine - a monthly print publication focusing on the arts & WYDaily in 2022.
In 2021, Patrick totaled over 250 performances across 42 venues throughout every major city in Hampton Roads. Patrick has been performing for “LIVE! On Atlantic” in Virginia Beach for 3 years.
Paul Warren
Bass Guitar - Patrick Ryan Band, Patrick Ryan Duo
Born and raised in Virginia, Paul recognized his musical calling at age 17. Since then, Paul has worked toward becoming one of the busiest bass players in Hampton Roads.
Early on, Paul met good friend and bassist Victor Wooten who encouraged him to start playing live. He came on the scene with Linda Williams and the Taste Of Quality Band and has performed with Bobby Messano, Ryan Farish, Anthony Rosano, The Platters, Bobby Blackhat, Ron Holloway, Ronnie Laws, and has opened for Bob Seger, ZZ Top, Goo Goo Dolls, Junior Wells, Kenny Neal, Leon Redbone, The Allman Betts Band, and many others. Pro Music and Sound awarded him their Bassist of the Year award. Paul has surrounded himself with nothing but the best musicians today.
Brandon Musko
Tenor Sax & Flute, Patrick Ryan Band, Patrick Ryan Duo
Brandon Musko discovered his passion for music at the early age of ten. His family recognized his ability and passion and provided the support he needed to become an accomplished woodwind musician. Brandon received his Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the University of Slippery Rock in May of 2007.
Brandon was employed by Holland America and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines for Pacific, Caribbean and Mediterranean contracts. His musical journey led him to Williamsburg, where he was employed as tenor sax player in Good Shot Judy, a vocal accompanied swing band. For the past few years, he has been performing as a Duo with Patrick & with Patrick Ryan Band playing the tenor sax and flute
